Borlabs Cookie vs Enzuzo

Which cookie consent tool fits your site best?

It is rare for two products, both promising to handle your cookie compliance, to differ as fundamentally as Borlabs and Enzuzo. You are essentially choosing here between a technical integration for WordPress and a broad privacy hub for webshops.

Where they are identical

Both platforms offer the functionality to display a cookie banner and ensure that third-party cookies are only loaded after consent. This makes you GDPR-compliant with either tool. Google Consent Mode v2 (crucial for your Google Ads campaigns) is also neatly covered by both Borlabs and Enzuzo.

Where the difference lies

Functional Scope. Borlabs (Germany) focuses exclusively and locally on the cookie aspect. It is an extremely robust, technical WordPress plugin for blocking scripts. Enzuzo (Canada), on the other hand, positions itself as a cloud-based privacy hub. Alongside a cookie banner, Enzuzo provides a customer portal to automate the processing of customer privacy requests (Data Subject Access Requests, or DSARs).

Generators and Automation. While with Borlabs you are personally responsible for the content of your privacy and cookie policy, Enzuzo allows you to automatically generate these documents via their platform. The downside of Enzuzo is that they store data in Canada, which falls outside the EU (although the EU currently has an adequacy decision for that country). Borlabs keeps all data on your own local server.

Costs. Borlabs operates with a fixed annual fee (starting around $5/month). Enzuzo uses a tiered subscription model (starting at $9/month) that increases as you add more domains or require larger DSAR limits.

Our recommendation

For regular WordPress users and developers, we recommend Borlabs. It is more secure (local data), cheaper in the long run, and the lack of DSAR functionalities is almost never a miss for small business owners.

Choose Enzuzo if you manage a webshop (such as Shopify or WooCommerce) with high customer volume and, alongside the banner, you seek automated workflows for handling privacy or data deletion requests from your customers.

Setting up a banner does not equal compliance. Most violations occur post-installation because scripts still load too early via Google Tag Manager. Always run a free scan after configuration to verify it actually works.
